Last week, I spoke to residents in Wroughton who were concerned that Lloyds Bank are about to close their branch in the Old Town of Swindon. Understandably, they are concerned about the impact this will have on the elderly and disabled who still use this branch and are not able to use online services.
Coincidentally, I am meeting with members of Marlborough Town Council soon to discuss the ramifications of the closure of Lloyds Bank in their High Street. We all very much hope that a hub service can be provided so that those who prefer to do their business face to face or cannot do so online, still have an opportunity to do so. I will, of course, suggest that a similar approach be taken in Swindon so that those who depend on visiting a branch are not left without this vital service.
