For several months I have been campaigning hard to help local boaters resolve their continuing exclusion from the Energy Bill Support Scheme Alternative Funding (EBBS-AF).
I was delighted to hear news that Wiltshire Council now has a Household Support Fund Scheme in place for boaters on Leisure, Residential and Non-Residential Moorings.
If you have not received EBBS-AF support and can provide proof of an official, valid CRT licence, you may be eligible for the Household Support Fund from the Department for Work & Pensions.
The award will be funded on a first come, first served basis and successful applicants will receive £400 in voucher form, for redemption via either a choice of retailer, the Post Office or PayPoint cash out which can offset the cost of fuel.
Wiltshire Council is planning several outreach events to assist those without technology or access to the internet. Applications need to be registered by 31 March 2024 and will be processed before 30 April 2024.

The Government promised to help “all households” and it is encouraging to see action being taken.
