I was delighted to see the BBC report that Wiltshire Council's proactive approach to areas including adult social services, children's services and renewable energy have put them in a far better financial position than other local authorities. Government locally and nationally should be shifting focus to prevention rather than cure, just as the council have done. Early intervention can prevent situations escalating, with devastating outcomes in some circumstances. My sincere thanks and congratulations to the council for employing such an effective model.
