A massive local effort in Wiltshire to raise funds to buy generators and provide an unprecedented level of essential medical supplies and food will come to fruition on Monday - but you can still offer support. I am very pleased to share this information on behalf of my constituent Caragh Booth, who is a co-founder of UKtoUkraine.
POWER UKRAINE
“FILL THE TRUCK” is a mission to support Ukraine with essential items to survive this winter. Donations have been generously given by Wiltshire villages and the surrounding counties over the past 2 weeks, 60 generators have been purchased and the fully laden 44 tonne lorry kindly donated by Cefetra will depart for of Polish/Ukraine border on Monday 28th November.
This Project has also been supported by Cefetra, The Girdlers, The Bryan Adams Foundation, Boodles, Hertford Foods and Shoeaid for which we are truly grateful. We would also like to thank our donors worldwide for their ongoing support and generosity to our charity.
ON BOARD THE TRUCK
As well as 60 generators, there are essential supplies for surviving the winter without power Fire pits for cooking, camping kit, insulated indoor tents, solar torches, candles, barbeques, as well as medical supplies and many tonnes of food.
Local villages have made 828 Christmas Shoe Boxes and donated thousands of presents for disadvantaged children and for half orphans for St Nicholas’s Day on 19th of December, this is our father Christmas night. We are hoping to make them smile at a time when, so little does.
WHERE DOES OUR AID GO? We concentrate on areas where it is hardest to get to. Our partners travel thousands of kilometres to the areas affected worse and to hospitals who greatly need our support. These incredibly brave volunteers work under the threat of rocket and counter attacks by the retreating army where they provide immediate support to those communities that need it most. The generators and food that we send in are critical to their survival.
WHO DISTRIBUTES THE AID IN UKRAINE.
- FOLKOWISKO FOUNDATION – our partners in Poland – making children’s lives better.
- STAYSAFE.UA.ORG. An incredibly brave organisation, transporting generators and food to areas that have no contact with the outside – we in the UK find this hard to imagine.
- ACTION BEYOND WORDS – MISSION UKRAINE working in Irpin, Balakliya and Kherson. Delivering essential supplies since the war started.
- HEARTS FOR THE CHILDREN OF UKRAINE. Supporting with essential generators since the war began.
WHAT IS STILL NEEDED
- Another donated 44 tonne truck to take the excess supplies in early December.
- Generators – the most wanted item in Ukraine. WE NEED MORE any size we can handle it!
The combined provision of aid between HAFGB and UKtoUkraine has exceeded 1 million of aid of which £200,000,00 was medical equipment. This unique collaboration where likeminded people are working tirelessly, entirely voluntary, with efficiency to produce extraordinary results. We believe this is the future model for the people across the UK to get involved to support the people of Ukraine. We welcome any organisation that wishes to work with us.
