As promised at the public meeting I held in Collingbourne Kingston last month, yesterday I met with Philip Palmer, Parish Clerk of Collingbourne Kingston, and Councillor Mark McClelland, Cabinet Member for Transport at Wiltshire Council, to walk through the Collingbournes so that we could see first-hand the speed and frequency of the traffic these villages are suffering from. It is obvious how serious the issue is with HGVs in particular. Wiltshire Council and the Police are working through the potential solutions that were suggested during the public meeting in July and will, I hope, be able to update us on what can be done at the next meeting, planned for November.
