I visited the village of Allington near Devizes this week to see the impact of the recent flooding. Councillor Paul Oatway and I met residents Neil and Sion Allen, whose house has been flooded four times in the past few months, along with their neighbour Lavinia Postlethwaite. The flooding here, like the rest of the Constituency, was caused by the wave of named storms earlier in the year, but here it was also severely compounded by drainage issues in the village. I was pleased to hear Paul is doing everything he can to help, and I will also push the relevant departments for speedy action to prevent future floods.
