The recent rain over the Christmas period has fallen on already saturated ground, with river levels high. The standing water is, as a result, taking longer to clear, and we have seen some localised flooding throughout the Constituency. The Environment Agency, the water companies, and Wiltshire Council have been doing what they can to manage the situation, caused by the large storms that are sweeping across the country.
Currently, there are a number of flood warnings and alerts in force across the constituency.
- Flood Warnings are issued when property flooding is expected.
- Flood Alerts are issued when flooding to low lying areas such as fields and roads are expected, and property flooding is possible.
