Honoured to attend the memorial service for local historian and hero of the ‘Secret Spitfire’ program in World War Two. Norman Parker was an engineer on the construction project that went on in sheds and makeshift factories in Salisbury, after the bombing of the Spitfire factory in Southampton. He was then instrumental in recording the extraordinary story for the generations that followed. A lovely service at Amesbury Abbey church and a fitting tribute at the Officers Mess, Boscombe Down.
