‘Letter to residents of Bromham concerning the illegal encampment at New Road’
Dear X
Yesterday I met members of Bromham Parish Council and visited the New Road site. I am very concerned about the developments which took place over the bank holiday weekend and share everyone’s concerns about the impact they may have on residents and the local area.
Any action taken by Wiltshire Council must be within the law, but as recent enforcement notices have been breached, they need to be prosecuted. I am in close contact with Cllr Laura Mayes, who is pressing to make sure that the appropriate action is taken.
Given the breach of enforcement notices, I feel there are some vital points which need to be clarified, and I have written to Mike Wilmott, Head of Development Management Economic Development & Planning at Wiltshire Council for an urgent update on the following:
When will the enforcement notices be prosecuted, and what is the anticipated timeline for this to reach court?
Is the Legal Team at Wiltshire Council applying for an injunction, and if not, at what point will they do so?
What powers do the Council currently have to take action to clear the site?
When I have more information, I will let you know, and in the meantime, I will continue to liaise with Laura and the parish council.
Yours sincerely,
Danny Kruger
