Following discussions with Wiltshire Council and the families, HFT have decided to abandon their plans to close Furlong Close next summer, and I pay tribute to the families who have forced this rethink.
It is important that the future of the site is properly discussed with residents and their families and I am urging HFT to allow a meaningful consultation before any decisions are taken. I hope that those residents who would benefit from staying at Furlong Close will be able to live out their lives there.
I will continue to follow the consultation process closely.
