Today I asked the Minister of State for Defence Procurement for an update on the water supply at Trenchard Lines barracks in Upavon, after it became contaminated by diesel in November.
Water to the site is still being provided by tanker by Ancala Water Services, but I am pleased they are working on a longer term plan alongside Wessex Water and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, which will hopefully see water being piped in from the main supply in Upavon village.
My thanks to all those at Upavon station and within the MoD who acted so promptly to identify the source of the contamination and take action.
