I regularly visit schools across the constituency, and receive correspondence from headteachers, on the problems facing the education sector and I am keen to feed this information back to the Government.
Next week (Thursday, March 9) the Public Accounts Committee will be holding a session on Education Recovery in Schools in England.
Specifically, the Committe is keen to hear about: the situation schools face regarding recruitment, staffing, buildings, etc. after the pandemic; the take up of the National Tutoring Programme; and the effectiveness of the Government's other catchup funding.
I would very much like to share as much information as possible with the Committee and would encourage any schools with specific comments on these topics to write to me with their experiences. To do so, please email my Chief of Staff at [email protected] by the end of Tuesday, March 7.
The inquiry is based on a National Audit Office report of the same name. Any wider reflections you have on the report would also be welcome.
